SRRC Masters
We have a vibrant and inclusive group of Masters rowers that row both competitively and socially at the club. The Masters program offers opportunities to race at local regattas, as well as State, National and World Masters competitions/ It’s also a fun and social way to stay fit all year-round. For more information on the Masters programme and training times, contact masters-captain@srrc.org.au
Philosophy
“Age & ability no barrier” – we focus on technique, fitness and enjoyment!
Who rows?
Our rowers range in age from 27 to 80+ and include:
- Ex-school or university rowers returning to the sport
- Complete beginners, and graduates from our Corporate Challenge crews
- Recreational rowers looking to stay fit and active
Session options
You can choose to row as little or as much as you wish – come down once a month or five times a week! Our Masters community is known for being friendly, welcoming and flexible. Typical sessions include:
- Weekdays: Tue/Thu 05:15 for crew boats, other days at your discretion!
- Sunday: coached sessions commence between 06:00 and 07:00 depending on seasons – with coffee / breakfast after
- Land: our fully-equipped gym is available to all Masters rowers
Communication and organisation of crews is made easy via our Masters WhatsApp group.

Competition pathway
We encourage all Masters rowers to challenge themselves through racing, whatever their level. In addition to the Masters season regattas, rowers may also choose to participate in the various Swan River events (Perth to Fremantle, Guildford to Garrett), the WA Masters Series, and the Australian Masters Championships. Many Masters also choose to travel and compete in the FISA World Masters Championships.
Several of our Masters are experienced and decorated competitors—but participation at every level is equally valued.
