SRRC Juniors

The Swan River Rowing Club Junior Squad is comprised of athletes from 13 to 17 years of age. The Junior program builds confidence, fitness, and skills in young athletes, preparing them to seamlessly move up into the senior squads. We have junior athletes from schools all over Perth, both in the PSA and IGSSA competitions and non-rowing schools. Juniors usually compete in the WA All Schools competition, as well as the Pennant season.

Our Junior rowing program runs on Monday, Thursday and Saturday mornings, plus optional cross-training sessions in the afternoons. Training programs are provided by our Head Coach and distributed each week. How much or how little you decide to be involved in training, is up to the individual. Programs are provided as a starting point and our coaches are always happy to discuss other ways your performance can be optimised or programs can be tailored to suit personal needs.

Contact our Secretary at secretary@srrc.org.au or our Head Coach at headcoach@srrc.org.au for more information or to register.

Pathways Partner Club

Swan River Rowing Club is proud to be a WAIS/Rowing WA Pathway Partner Club, with the club working in partnership with WAIS, Rowing Australia and Rowing WA in the identification and development of rowers who have the potential to be selected for Rowing Australia’s (RA) national training centres and/or an Australian Team and ultimately achieve podium results at benchmark events.

We have been a Pathway Partner Club since the inception of the program and have worked with athletes over the past several years, to attain State and National Team representation at Junior, U21, U23 and Senior Level.

We have a great club history in the development of State and Australian representatives, including Olympic representatives and medallists. Our coaches are always happy to answer any questions.about the process of selection and trialling for Australian teams. At Swans we aim to facilitate each and every member’s goals, whatever these may be. Many athletes have competed for Australia and gone through this process and would also be happy to guide and answer any questions you may have.
